About Logbook.co.uk

Logbook.co.uk is an independent UK guide to statutory record-keeping: the logbooks, registers and certificates the law requires you to keep, explained in plain English. Launched in April 2026, it now covers nearly 200 guides across 15 sectors — from the V5C on your drive to fire safety logs, food temperature records, tachographs and the 2026 property logbook reforms.

Who writes it

The site is written and edited by Jamie Dawson. Every guide is researched from primary sources — legislation.gov.uk, gov.uk, and regulator guidance (HSE, FSA, DVSA, ICO, MCA, CAA) — and carries a Sources block linking the authorities it relies on. How we research, review and correct our work is set out in our editorial standards.

Who owns it, and how it's funded

Logbook.co.uk is independently operated by Jamie Dawson and is part of the same family of businesses as Gemini AMPM Ltd (building services). No logbook provider, software vendor or trade body pays for coverage, placement or recommendations in our guides. The site is free to read; if we ever use affiliate links they will be clearly disclosed on the page and will never affect what we recommend.
