Free UK Logbook Tools and Checkers
Four free checkers and twenty-eight free record templates. No sign-up, nothing stored.
Four free tools, twenty-eight free templates, and no sign-up on any of them. Everything here runs on public data or in your own browser, and nothing you type is stored by us.
Vehicle tools
Free MOT History Check with Mileage Timeline
Enter a registration and see every recorded MOT, pass or fail, with the advisories and a mileage timeline that flags implausible jumps. The mileage sequence is the single most useful clocking check available for free, because a car that lost 20,000 miles between tests leaves the evidence in the public record.
Vehicle Service Record Template
For rebuilding a history when the service book is lost. A documented history typically adds 5 to 15% to what a buyer will pay.
Property tools
Your Home's Public Record
Enter a postcode and see what the public record already holds: every recorded sale since 1995, the EPC rating and whether it is still valid, conservation area status and live flood warnings. It will also generate a personalised Property Logbook Starter as a PDF.
Sales Pack Readiness Checker
Tells you which documents a buyer's solicitor will ask for, and which of them you do not yet have. Worth running before you list rather than three weeks into a sale.
Property Logbook Reform Timeline
The dated tracker of the 2026 home-buying reform: each phase, what is law and what is still guidance, kept current as MHCLG publishes. Independent of any vendor.
Compliance tools
Landlord Compliance Calendar
Describe the property and it builds your personal calendar of every legal obligation: gas annually, electrics every five years, EPC every ten, plus the extra duties that attach to HMOs and holiday lets. It gives each one its legal frequency, its next due date and how long the records must be kept.
The Template Library
Twenty-eight free record templates, each as a print-ready PDF and an editable Excel file. Fridge temperature logs, accident books, fire drill records, LOLER registers, mileage logs, asbestos registers and more. Built to the current UK rules and dated so you can see when they were last checked.
Reference
The A to Z of UK Logbooks lists every record type we cover, and the Glossary explains the terms. If you are not sure which record applies to you, start with what a logbook is and every type explained.
How these work, and what we do with your data
The property and vehicle tools query public data sources: DVSA MOT history, HM Land Registry price paid data, the EPC register and Environment Agency flood warnings. The compliance calendar and readiness checker run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere.
We do not require an account, we do not store the registrations or postcodes you enter, and none of the tools are gated behind an email address. The templates are free to use inside your organisation, and if one saves you time a link back to the page is always appreciated.
If a tool returns something that looks wrong, it is usually because the underlying public record is wrong or incomplete rather than the tool. That is worth knowing in itself: the same record is what a buyer, an inspector or a solicitor will see.
