What this is: A waitlist for the upcoming Logbook.co.uk digital logbook app — a single secure place to keep every document for every vehicle you own. MOT reminders, service records, V5C scans, finance status, photo provenance, sale-ready paperwork. Built for UK owners, by the team behind Logbook.co.uk.
UK car ownership has changed. The paperwork hasn't.
Every UK driver carries the same problem in their glovebox or a drawer somewhere: a paper V5C they need but rarely look at, a service book with gaps, MOT reminders they forgot, insurance documents they can't find when they need them, and — when it's time to sell — a stack of paperwork that doesn't quite tell the car's story.
We're building the fix.
The Logbook app — what we're building
Five core functions, designed for UK drivers:
1. One vehicle, every document
Scan or photograph your V5C, MOT certificates, service invoices, insurance documents, and warranty paperwork. Everything for one car lives in one place. Multiple cars? Each gets its own digital logbook.
2. MOT and tax reminders that actually work
30, 14, and 7 days before MOT or tax expires, we email you. Once a year, on a date you control, we send the full annual ownership summary.
3. Service history that holds up at sale
Every invoice, every garage, every mileage point — recorded as you go. At sale, you generate a one-page summary worth £1,500–£3,000 in resale value vs. cars with "partial" history.
4. Provenance for classics and prestige
Keeper history, restoration logs, marque-club Heritage certificates, period photos, magazine features. The provenance file we describe in our classic car provenance guide — but built, organised, and shareable.
5. Buyer verification at handover
When you sell, the buyer gets read-only access to your verified history. Faster sale, higher price, less negotiation.
Why we're building it
Logbook.co.uk has been writing the UK's plain-English guide to vehicle record-keeping for over a year. Hundreds of UK drivers have written in asking the same question: "Where do I keep all of this?"
The honest answer until now: a folder somewhere, hopefully not in the car when it's stolen, and definitely not where buyers can verify it. The app fixes that.
Who this is for
- Private UK car owners who want their paperwork in one place
- Classic and prestige owners who need a provenance file that holds up at auction
- Multi-car households juggling MOTs, tax, and service intervals across 2-5 vehicles
- Used car buyers who want sellers to provide verified histories
- Independent specialists who want a way to share service work with their customers
What we're NOT building
We're not building an HPI check (we'll integrate with existing providers). We're not building a marketplace (you can sell where you like). We're not building a connected-car app (your car's own app handles that). And we're not building anything that requires you to trust us with payment or finance data.
The app is a record-keeping system. Nothing more, nothing less.

FAQs
When will the app launch?
We're targeting a closed beta in late 2026 and public launch in 2027. Waitlist members get invited to the beta first.
What will it cost?
Free tier for single-vehicle owners. Paid tier for multi-vehicle, classic provenance, or business use. Waitlist members receive founder pricing locked permanently.
Will it work for cars I don't own yet?
Yes. Buyers can use the app to build a verification file on a car they're considering — gov.uk lookups, MOT history, V5C scans, service-history checks — before they pay.
Will it integrate with HPI / AutoCheck?
Yes, in due course. The app stores your records; HPI providers add the regulatory and financial check.
What about my data privacy?
Records are encrypted, UK-hosted, and never sold. We'll publish a full privacy policy before launch.
Will my mechanic be able to update my service history?
Yes — that's a planned feature. Mechanics with permission can add service entries with photos and invoices directly to your record.
